5. Membership matters

a. Election of Union Councillors

You can nominate yourself up until this point. There are five places for men and five places for women. One election will be conducted for candidates who are men and one for candidates who are women, all members of Union Council can vote in both.

b. Student representatives pools for Elections Working Groups

Members of Union Council interested in sitting on the Spring Elections Working Group should email democracy@susu.org . You cannot be on the group if you intend to run or support any candidate in the Spring Elections (which are for Sabbatical Officers, Student Leaders, student trustees and Union Councillors) There are two places available.

You can nominate yourself at this point. There is one place available on the following Zone Committees:

  • Democracy 
  • Student Communities
  • Creative Industries
  • Education 
  • External Engagement 
  • Sports
  • Student Life

Union Councillors & Student Leaders can stand and all members of Union Council can vote.
