Women in Medicine

Hi! We're Southampton's Women in Medicine Society.

We're here to acknowledge the a woman's path through medicine comes with unique positives, but also many challenges. We aim to:

  1. Empower - providing role models and inviting inspirational speakers, whilst also helping to equip our members with tools and skills for the work place.
  2. Support - fostering a safe environment for discussion and advice, through a strong emphasis on welfare and community with socials, coffee catch-ups, and events discussing our mental health.
  3. Educate - inform on women's health issues and the obstacles that face women in medicine, including opening up debate around this for all genders.

We deliver this through formal talks from external speakers, as well as more informal discussion-based sessions. Find us on instagram (@womeninmed.soton) or FB (@winm.soton), or email us at winmsoc.soton@gmail.com for more info.
