Team Southampton Motorsport is a club for all motorsport enthusiasts at the University of Southampton. We run a range of events suitable for everyone.
Team Southampton Motorsport
University of Southampton’s hub for motorsport enthusiasts! You don’t need a car, or even a license to join – just an interest in speed, style or motorsport! We are running karting events, F1 viewings, socials and more! This year we are looking to expand as a club and have lots of plans to make things more exciting – but we need members & interest to do this!
TSM x SUFST
TSM are delighted to announce an exciting collaboration with the Southampton University Formula Student Team (SUFST)! We now have the opportunity to function as their Driver Academy, where the fastest BUKC drivers are offered the Formula Student drive - a unique experience. As a SUFST driver, you would have the chance to test the car at the Beaulieu Motor Museum and work closely with the Race Engineering department to optimise the car's setup for various track conditions. And, of course, you would be able to pilot the car during Formula Student competitions, driving on the fabled Silverstone tarmac as well as European courses.

Our plans for the year:
- Intra-University Karting Events
Karting events at local tracks where you can compete against others in TSM. Race for much cheaper than you would privately.
- British Universities Karting Championship (BUKC)
National karting competition for university students using CLUB100 2-stroke 125cc karts easily capable of 70mph. A real driving test.
- Motorsport Event Trips & Breaks
We have access to nearby Thruxton Circuit, where rounds of the BTCC and British Superbikes are held.
- The Best Social Events
Great opportunity to meet like-minded people.
- Organised Viewings of F1 and Other Motorsports Events
F1 is now more popular than ever. Each race is shown in Stag's.
- Sim Racing Championships
An accessible way to race against one another online, using the best sim racing platforms.
- Host Automotive-Based Events & Competitions
We're looking to get those involved with the world of motorsport into the University to speak about their experiences.
What a £30 TSM membership entitles you to:
- Eligibility for our intra-university karting events and.
- Eligibility for our sim racing events and championships.
- Eligibility for our trips, breaks, experiences and socials.
- Selected discounts at our hosted events.
What a £45 TSM membership entitles you to:
- All of what is displayed above
- Eligibilty into any BUKC event!

Note: TSM are able to heavily discount karting events, but cannot facilitate funding all of its members. Therefore, each individual intra-university karting event will require an additional payment of around £25 to compete

These are the current membership fees offered by Team Southampton Motorsport, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
