Basketball
Welcome to the Southampton University Basketball Club. Our committee is dedicated to making your University experience the best it can be. With multiple competitive teams at all levels of the BUCS system, there are opportunities for anyone looking to play basketball and we are excited to meet any freshers at trials and welcome back the returners as we prepare for a successful 24/25 season. Read below for more information on trials, club structure and more!
TRIALS:

Whether you have played before or are brand new to the sport, we have teams at all levels to cater to your experience:
Our Men's 1st team compete in BUCS Western Tier 2 and we are hunting promotion next season. We also compete in the local Wessex League Open Division 2. The 23/24 season saw winning records for all our Men's Teams across all competitions. Our Men's 2nd team secured promotion with a game to spare into BUCS Western Tier 2, joining our Men's 1s this coming season.
Our Women's 1st team play in BUCS Premier South and Wessex Women's League Division 1. Whilst improving on their previous season's Prem success by finishing one place higher, they also reached the semi-finals in their Wessex League Campaign and look to build on this success for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
We also have a host of teams in our Intramural system who play in the internal league within the university and there is always a space for anyone who wants to play - which can be a great way for individuals to push into the BUCS Teams or just enjoy our sport and have fun.
After the committee's fantastic job last year, membership numbers almost doubled... and with the committee returning some key figures and introducing some new faces with fresh ideas, SUBC isn't a club to miss out on this coming academic year.
Follow us on our Instagram (@subc.sharks) for updates over the summer and more information towards the beginning of the new university year! Feel free to send us a DM on Instagram with any questions you might have or E-Mail our President by clicking on their name below.
We also hold a variety of socials throughout the year and different events, including a winter and summer ball, a wheelchair basketball charity event, All-Star Saturday and Varsity and we can't wait to bring you into our SUBC family.
