Instructions:

1. Find a quiet and comfortable space in your home to set up your altar or sacred space. It could be a corner of a room, a shelf, or a small table.


2. Gather the photos or mementoes of your deceased loved ones or ancestors and place them on the altar. If you have any flowers or dried herbs, you can also add them as offerings.


3. Light the white candle as a symbol of light and remembrance. Take a moment to centre yourself and focus on your intention for the ritual.


4. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, allowing yourself to connect with the presence of your ancestors or loved ones in your heart and mind.


5. Reflect on the memories and experiences you shared with them. Take this time to honour their lives, the wisdom they passed down, and their impact on your life.


6. Speak any words or prayers of remembrance or gratitude that feel meaningful to you. You can also silently offer your thoughts and feelings to them.


7. If you have a journal or paper and pen, consider writing down your reflections, memories, or any messages you wish to convey to your ancestors.


8. Spend some time in quiet contemplation, allowing yourself to feel their presence and the connection you have with them.


9. If you have any specific questions or seek guidance, you can silently ask your ancestors for their insights or support.


10. When you feel ready, express your thanks and love to your ancestors. Blow out the candle, symbolising the end of the ritual.


11. Leave the altar or sacred space as it is for as long as you feel appropriate. You can revisit it whenever you want to reconnect with your ancestors or continue the remembrance.
