- Long - term changes
- More events for first years
- Taking initiative and respsonsibility
- Bring new ideas to the board
I am excited about applying for the role of Student Trustee as I am passionate in being an active member of the University and getting involved in trying to create a supportive, inclusive and exciting environment for all students. The role of a Student Trustee involves being part of the University of Southampton's Student's Union. The Union provides activities and events for all students but these popular nights need to be organised and overseen. I believe that I can add my creative ideas to the board introducing new events particularly for first year students. If I were to be elected as a Trustee, I would push for more events designed for first year students. It can be a daunting journey, navigating the first year at University and therefore would like to assist in the process of making it easier for us to adjust to the new surroundings.
As a Trustee, I believe that we should make sure everyone's voice's are heard. Being part of the student council for over four years in High School has taught me the importance of taking everyone's perspectives into account when making decisions. The board is a force of positivity for the school and therefore being part of it will allow me to work collaboratively with the other members to introduce initiatives that will have a long-term, lasting effect in the University of Southampton.
