Why vote for Ned Rigden-Bate?
I have been brought up to appreciate the world and all its wonders and I believe it is my purpose to have a positive impact on the environment in anything I do, which has informed my decision to study engineering and learn how some of the biggest systems and polluters in the world operate. I have big aspirations for my career, and I want to gather as many positive connections as possible in my journey for making a difference. In the future I want to create my own invention, improve current systems, and build my own organisation around sustainability (whether that is energy, waste management or materials.)
I believe that sustainability should underpin everything that an engineer does and is central to our objective as a planet to combat the climate change battle. Our generation as upcoming engineers, and people alike, are the ones that will solve this problem and supporting each other with as much awareness and tools to do this is essential.
As sustainability officer I will be a passionate leader, striving to implement new sustainability regulations into the university and collaborate with the students of today to meet universities suitability and climate change manifesto while improving it with our ideas.
