Why vote for Jaina Dhillon?
I am a hardworking, motivated economics enthusiast, studying Bsc Economics. I will prioritise clear communication channels across faculty and students. This will ensure the best satisfaction within lectures, seminars and across modules. Another focus will be increasing knowledge of internships, employment opportunities and notably SpringWeeks both internal and external to the university. With particular emphasis, on all career paths being equally considered. As well as trying to eliminate any problems you may face. Overall ensuring a comfortable space in which the Economics Department can grow with the inclusion of everyone's perspectives is essential in maximising our utility as a department. The improvements would lead to increased motivation for overall engagement with Economics, an easier path to completion of Economics/ Economics related Degree, support being given to students and different perspectives being realised and valued. Personally having completed 1st year of BSc Economics, I understand the issues that may have made life easier if addressed, for example, support on problem sets and the development of student community networks. I am passionate about inclusivity and ensuring people of all backgrounds feel comfortable and can make the most of their economics journey both within the department and the wider university. I will bring this passion to this role, as I have demonstrated previously from having a wealth of leadership experience. A key motivation for me applying for this role is my sociable and outgoing nature. I enjoy meeting new people, so would love to hear your views and represent our Economics community.
