Why vote for Imogen Norman?
Hi! My name is Imogen. I am going into my second year of BA Music here at Southampton and I'm running to be this year's Music Department President. This year I was the Year 1 course representative, and liaised with Music staff to make sure that all students' concerns were heard and solutions found. I have carried out duties such as attending meetings, creating feedback forms and working with staff, while keeping students informed about changes. I am involved and on committee for various PA/music societies and therefore can say that I am punctual, have organisational skills, can chair meetings, and direct discussions. I am keen to make sure I'm always approachable and continually listening to everyone. I intend to amplify student networking events and collaborative opportunities between different courses/years, and integrate what we do into the local community by contributing more to events taking place in the city. I am concerned with making sure that everyone is getting the most out of their course as possible, with more module choices and flexibility - and that you graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the industry/world of work. I will continue to ensure that mid/end of semester feedback on modules are still collected and reflected upon to make sure everyone's having the best academic experience!
Thank you so much for reading my manifesto - please feel free to come and chat or drop me an email if you have anything you want to talk about!
