Why vote for Anisa Rahman-Choudhury?
Hi, I’m Anisa and I’m in second-year. As a passionate humanitarian and law student, I’m running for President of Southampton Law School. Being a case-worker for the Death Penalty Clinic and an Executive Committee Member of Lawyers Without Borders Society, my main interests are human rights and charitable work. Therefore, equipped with leadership and organisation skills, I aim to encourage more participation and access to pro-bono opportunities this year; this is not only highly beneficial for students but also the wider community.
Working closely with Department Heads and Course representatives, I will diligently act on all feedback from students on how they would like our course to be improved. I recognise that many students may struggle during the exam period. Therefore, I will liaise with staff members to ensure you receive the best support possible. This will be achieved through clear direction, high-standard revision resources and personalised assistance.
As President, I wish to help students build their confidence in the legal industry, working to integrate commercial awareness into our learning for those interested. I will also stead-fastly continue the great work already done this year, particularly the focus on mental health. I am committed to building on the panel discussions with events and forums.
Fundamentally, I promise to listen and advocate on behalf of every law student, to be a friendly face and to cultivate a collaborative and inclusive community. Vote for me so our law school can be its best version!
