Why vote for Sam Kitson?
Hi, thanks for checking out my candidate page - I'll keep this short, I know how busy ECS students are at the moment!
I'm running to be your School President for the upcoming year and I hope I can count on your vote. I've been a Course Rep for the last 2 years and have led a number of initiatives in that time. My work has led to direct impacts on students, from removing negative marking from assessments and extending deadlines to promoting better transparency between Course Reps and students with regular update emails and feedback surveys. I've been recognised for my efforts with the Rep of the Month award and nominations for Best Contribution & Best Academic Impact at SUSU, and I'll only work harder as School President.
I have a number of areas I want to work on as School President. Firstly, I will push for the results of the module surveys to be shared with students to help you make more informed choices about your modules. Secondly, I will continue the work of Charlotte and David to improve our lab spaces and keep them for ECS students only, something the University wants to change (crazy, I know!). I'll also work closely with Course Reps and ECS staff to monitor the changes being made to the courses next year and react quickly to fix any issues.
If you have any questions, please do drop me an email (sk6g22) and I'd be happy to answer them. Thank you!
