Why vote for James Baines?
Hi,
I’m James, second year engineering student, and I’m running to become the faculty president for engineering and physical sciences.
So why vote for me?
I’ve already done a lot of work in SUSU (I was a course rep and am a department president) so you can trust me to do my job properly and represent you at the various SSLC and committee meetings. I’ll always be available to answer your questions if you need me, and I’ll be clear and transparent with you on any decisions that are made.
As faculty president, I promise to
- Ensure all engineers and scientists are represented, and that your courses are as good as they can be.
- Promote and find new industrial opportunities (which I’ll feedback to you through the course reps)
- Support the engineering and science societies as much as possible with advertising, industry links and organising events.
- Send out a monthly update email with all important information and oppertunities
Particularly I want to support the engineering/sciences societies with their events by advertising, admin support or by liaising with faculty - as the social side of STEM is just as crucial as the academic!
Please consider voting me into this role, so I can continue to work to improve life at the university and ensure you enjoy your courses as much as possible. I'm part of both the engineering and maritime societies, and I work as a residences ambassador at Glen Eyre East - so you’ll see me around!
If you have any questions, then definately don’t hesitate to ask me.
James
