Petitions
If there is a change you want to see at SUSU, or you would like SUSU to lobby the University on an issue, you can put forward a petition for other students to sign. Getting lots of signatures on a petition is a great way to demonstrate the strength of feeling behind an issue, which helps put pressure on decision makers.
You can petition the Union:
- To hold a general meeting about an issue, where every student can vote.
- To hold a Union Senate meeting about an issue, where members of Union Senate can vote.
- To hold a referendum on a specified question, where every student can vote.
Before you choose what you would like to petition about, get in touch with the Representation Team (via representation@soton.ac.uk) to find out how your petition will work. Your petition will be open for 7 days from the date it goes online.
