You Are More Than

Adam Palmer, Advice Coordinator

Welcome back! We hope you had a good holiday break and are back raring to go for the new year!

As we head into exam season remember, you are more than your studies. The Advice Centre has provided below some tips to make sure to take some time for yourself over the exam period.

  1. Plan Breaks – A schedule can really help when studying, but it can also help to plan some breaks in your day. These breaks could be used to do some of the other things on this list!
  2. Relax – Take a break, don’t do anything, put some music or a TV show you enjoy on, get away from the screen and just chill.
  3. Do something you enjoy – Take some time out to do something you enjoy, go the gym, play a game, or create something new! Keep an eye out for SUSU Give It A Go events throughout the month!
  4. Check-in on your mental health and wellbeing – Take a breath, see how you are feeling, do you need to speak to someone, there is support available! The University Wellbeing team can be contacted through the Student Hub, you can also reach out to the Advice Centre who can provide practical support!
  5. Eat! – Easy to forget to do when you are in the rhythm of revision but if you don’t eat you won’t perform at your best, healthy foods such as fruit will give you the best chance for success. At times through the month there will be food giveaways by SUSU keep an eye out on what’s available through the YAMT page on the SUSU Website!

SUSU will have plenty on over the exam period to remind you that you are more than your studies. Make sure to keep an eye on the SUSU What’s On to get involved. SUSU.
