SUSU’s annual Housing Fair will take place on Friday 8th November, from 10:00 to 16:00 on the Concourse in the SUSU Building (Building 42).
This event is the perfect opportunity to start exploring accommodation options for the next academic year, with plenty of support and guidance on transitioning to independent living. You’ll be able to meet representatives from Housing Agencies, Private Student Accommodations, Utility Providers, Wellbeing Groups, Banks, Insurance Providers, and Household Retailers. Support teams from Finance, Residential Life, SASSH, and SUSU will also be on hand to offer valuable advice and assistance.
Advice from your Sabbs
Our Sabbatical officers have been in exactly the same position as you. Here is their advice on attending the SUSU Housing Fair and what you can get out of it.
Lawrence Coomber, Union President
“Don’t make the same mistake I did! In my second year I was rushed into a housing contract with a bad landlord who neglected our house and attempted to deduct the majority of our deposit at the end of the year for false reasons! Make sure you come along to the SUSU Housing Fair on Friday to help find the right house for next year, seeing Landlords and Agencies as well as our staff at SUSU who are always happy to help you make good decisions.”
Lottie James, VP Welfare & Community
“Whether you’re searching for the perfect place to live or a new housemate, the Housing Fair has you covered! Throughout the day, you can find all the information, options, and support you need, with our Housemate Finder event in the evening. The Advisors and I will be there to answer any questions and ensure you’re ready for your next steps. We hope to see you there!”
